"strings of affection"
In the dance and music performance “strings of affection” four dancers delve into the complexity of human relationships, mapping a dynamic landscape of shifting boundaries and transgressions. They employ a lens of care, to experience the facets of private caregiving and nuances of the human experience. The dancers draw inspiration from the Old English word of “care”, caru; uncovering protection, forgiveness and gratitude as new layers of meaning. Meanwhile they expose the ongoing power relations that determine who provides emotional care work in society without being rewarded for it.

"Vibrate"
“Vibrate” is Canadian artist Alyssa Favero’s self-choreographed solo which premiered at Dancing on the Edge in 2023.
This interdisciplinary collaboration utilises both original text and recorded text by Audre Lorde as well as the wide range of movement vocabulary within Alyssa’s personal dance history - from whacking/waacking/punking to contemporary improvisation to heels choreography. Vibrate synthesizes all of these elements to investigate the emotional landscape of self-expression and pleasure.
